Originally built in 1962 by the Hudson River Boat Company, the Packet, replicated the packet rowing and sailing vessels used as a shipping vessel in the 17th century through the early 19th century -- before modern day delivery services existed. The Packet can be rigged as a rowing or motor launch or as a sailing sloop. We have rebuilt the boat from stem to stern keeping the rustic wooden boat feel but adding a few modern conveniences -- and pirate necessities. The Raven is powered by a 10 Kw electric motor, a full set of sails or 6 oars.
